Welcome to the new Chilton County Airport Website! This site is being developed to better serve our resident aircraft owners as well as to provide information about the airport to transient pilots and aircraft owners. It is our hope that you will find the site useful as a means of obtaining updated information on our airport as well as plans for future improvements to the facility.
The Chilton County Airport (02A) is located in the geographic center of the state of Alabama, with access to Interstate 65, the County Seat of Clanton, the new St. Vincent’s Chilton Hospital and the new industrial park facility.
The Chilton County Airport is currently served by a recently re-constructed runway that is 4,008 feet in length with GPS based Instrument Approach Procedures to both runways. Self-serve 100LL aviation fuel is available 24 / 7 through a convenient self-serve system. Jet A turbine fuel is available self-serve or full serve at very competitive pricing.
We are currently developing a conference room in our administration building for on-site meetings. Major Airframe and Powerplant repair and maintenance is available Monday – Friday from 0800 until 1600 and weekends by prior arrangement.
Plans are in place to continue to expand and improve the airport. Extending the runway to 5,000 feet in length is the priority of the members of the Chilton County Airport Authority. Our Capital Improvement Plan calls for the completion of the runway extension in 2021, depending on the availability of federal Airport Improvement Program funding.
